Adidas Originals Launches NFT Wearables called ‘Virtual Gear’

Adidas Originals has announced the release of its latest NFT offering – virtual wearables. The brand calls the new product “Virtual Gear” – an interoperable NFT fashion experience. What Is The Adidas Originals Wearables Collection?

On November 16th, Adidas /// Studio (Three Stripe Studio) will release  the highly limited wearables collection. The limited edition 16 piece NFT collection defines the creative and cultural talent shaping the future of the brand. The collection also acts as a bridge between the past and future. Connecting real world and metaverse identities, and the communities, creators and web3 culture of Adidas overall. The ‘Virtual Gear’ collection is also interoperable, meaning it can be ported across different metaverses. This makes it ready to adapt and respond to the rapidly changing and growing web3 landscape of today.

The collection is available to owners of the Adidas Originals: Capsule NFT Collection launched in May, and anon-holders as well. The Capsule holders will need to ‘burn’ their NFTs to obtain one of the 16 new digital wearables. Furthermore, they get to see which of the 16 unique pieces they have been allocated once they choose to reveal and replace their Capsule NFT.

For non-holders, the new Virtual Gear collection will be available to buy directly across NFT marketplaces, starting November 16th. Additionally, ‘Virtual Gear holders’ and compatible partner collection NFTs (BAYC, MAYC, Inhabitants) unlock an awesome new perk in due time. The NFT partners will soon be able to use a special PFP Tool. This tool allows their original NFT to rock their new Adidas virtual drip!

The hyper-futuristic collection displays exceptional creativity fused with Adidas’ trademark originality. Jackets like the “C2172”, with the ability to “manipulate time”, to a reimagination of the iconic Adidas tracksuit as a “P.F.D – Personal Flotation Device”. Premium threaded designs such as the “WALLRUNNER” also appear. The collection also includes a nod to the timeless Superstar shoe sole silhouette – the “NEOBONE” also boast the extreme creativity of the project. 

As part of the continued collaboration with the brand’s earliest Web3 partners, the collection also includes three limited edition creator-led wearables – each representing the creative flair of Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), Gmoney, and Punks Comics, respectively.
