Alternative Press has revealed its first-ever NFT magazine cover in partnership with one of the top collectibles in the scene, The Wicked Craniums. Along with Craniums, Alternative Press also partnered with their community to release the limited edition cover NFT. The drop comes just a week after the magazine announced its 400th cover.
“This new launch builds on that legacy and further signals AP’s continued support of the NFT community and the metaverse,” Alternative Press wrote. “It also reflects our commitment to bringing all things alternative to our loyal readers and community, especially when it comes to music, art and their intersection in the metaverse.”

“As an artist that grew up casing the newsstand for the latest AP, it blows my mind to be able to collab with the magazine that represents the ideals and energy WC stands for,” the Wicked Craniums team said. “Being on the front cover feels like a dream and is a big win for the space overall.”

Alternative Press’ NFT comes in celebration of this year’s NFT week, NFT.NYC. During the week-long celebration at Times Square, NYC, collectors from all over the world came together to attend various events. Several speakers were also part of the event, including Quentin Tarantino, Beeple, Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales, YouTuber Logan Paul, and more.
During NFT.NYC, founders of Wicked Craniums, eminent members of the Cranium community, and AP met in a “a secret society-style dinner” to announce the NFT cover launch.

Wicked Craniums is making waves in the NFT space!
Wicked Craniums, an Ethereum-based NFT project with 10,762 cartoon skeletons, has been making waves in the NFT world since its June debut. In recent months, it has struck some stellar partnerships, offering much to the community. Back in September, for instance, the project collaborated with Skullcandy to give 25 headphones to the community via contests, competitions, and more. Last month, the project also released its official merch.
More recently, it partnered with Sandclock Org to host a charity NFT auction. For the auction, Wicked Craniums’ parent company, Reckless Labs, released five 1/1 NFTs called Skull Gods. All the proceeds from the sales will go to four charitable organizations—UNICEF, Acumen, Mercy Corps, and Health Finance Institute.
