Bored Apes, Mutant Apes, Mutant Serums – last year we’ve seen all BAYC NFT variations sell for millions, except for the Bored Ape Kennel Club.
This collection of 9,600 four-legged NFT friends was designed to accompany the famous Bored Apes on their journey. Unfortunately, though, they’ve been undervalued ever since their launch, at least when compared to the other BAYC collectibles.
However, things may change in 2022. Accordingly, the project admins might add important utility to Kennel NFTs this year, thus increasing their value!
Will the Bored Ape Kennel Club NFTs have utility?
Currently, the floor price of a Bored Ape Kennel Club NFT is just 5.9 ETH – way lower than the 77.99 ETH required for an OG Ape digital asset. Nevertheless, there was very little hype around the collection, at least until now.
Recently, the Twitter NFT community noticed many details in the BAYC Roadmap 2.0. For example, Twitter user John Locke discovered paws placed on three of the upcoming projects:
The paws could mean that the BAKC NFTs might play an important role in the 2022 “MD vs MMI” battles. Other collectors agree, claiming they had noticed other clues too.
Should this be the case, the value of a Bored Ape Kennel Club NFT will likely explode this year. As a result, some collectors have already purchased their first BAKC digital asset. Meanwhile, those who previously sold their BAKC to buy a Mutant Ape, for instance, are now regretting their decision.
A (possibly) great year for BAKC holders
Traveling back to June 19th, we can see the Bored Ape Kennel Club obviously having a successful launch. In fact, the collection had raised over $94 million in the first three months. Up until now, the collectibles have also surpassed 50,3K ETH in OpenSea trading volume.
Considering this impressive debut, the BAKC NFTs will probably skyrocket to success as the BAYC adds utility to them in 2022.
