Through a Twitter post, AvaStars confirmed that it is joining the VeeFriends claim pool by giving away 1700 generative character NFTs to holders of GaryVee’s NFT Collectible.
VeeFriends is an NFT Collection of 268 characters with a total of 10,255 tokens. The characters like Adventurous Astronaut and Courageous Cockatoo reflect the most positive attributes that GaryVee values in himself and others. Meanwhile, each token serves as a ticket to VeeCon, a yearly multi-day superconference over a three-year period. So this NFT giveaway serves as an additional utility for VeeFriends NFT holders.
What will VeeFriends NFT Holders Receive Exactly?
Currently, there’s a total of 4551 VeeFriends NFT holders. However, there are only 1700 available AvaStars so the distribution will be random and on a first-come, first-served basis. The claim day and claim time will be announced on Discord and Twitter today, August 9, at 1:00 pm PT / 4:00 pm ET / 9:00 pm BST.
What will VeeFriends NFT holders get exactly?
AvaStars are generative NFT characters for the metaverse. Each token is unique and has its art and metadata stored on the Ethereum blockchain. Moreover, AvaStars NFTs come licensed for use commercially by token holders. So each NFT that will be given away will also be eligible for 1 art token. The NFT holder simply needs to hold unto it until the snapshot of all Series 5 Avastar holders has been taken.
Outlining the Claim Process
According to the Claim guide posted on Substack, the claim site will only be live for 48 hours. Any unclaimed AvaStars NFTs will remain the project’s property and will be reallocated to future community-building events.
Once the claim site is live, NFT holders simply need to connect their MetaMask wallet and click the “Claim AvaStar” button. Then, the wallet will ask the NFT holders to sign the transaction and confirm the gas amount.
The project gave a clear warning to NFT holders to pay attention to gas fees. They explained that since there are 4551 VeeFriends NFT holders trying to claim 1700 AvaStars NFTs, being quick is key. However, there’s no need to pay an exorbitant amount for gas because AvaStars NFTs are available on the secondary market. The price floor on OpenSea is currently .34 ETH or $1069.
AvaStars also clarified that users should only attempt to claim one AvaStar NFT per address containing a VeeFriend. The contract will not allow more than one per address. Any attempt to breach this would just lead to a failed transaction and wasted gas fees.
Finally, after the transaction is complete, NFT holders can check their wallets in real-time to view the free AvaStar. In addition, lucky winners can also view it on OpenSea.io or, on the Avastars.io site after connecting their wallet via the “profile” screen. It would take a few minutes to process and sync this.
Backstory
The announcement also revealed how this partnership came to be. The Avastars parent company, nft42, created by NFT OG Jim McNelis, also formed the nameless nft minting platform. GaryVee worked with nameless to bring his idea for VeeFriends to the metaverse.
“Gary Vee and Jim are both kids at heart, who love collecting and curating super cool stuff. They also both understand and believe in the importance of building a strong community. That’s why we’re sharing our Avastars with our new VeeFriends!”
VeeFriends NFT holders can look forward to more giveaways because GaryVee’s Pre-Launch Program is now in full swing. Accepted projects will donate 555 of their own project tokens to VeeFriends in exchange for access to the community and & GaryVee’s over 11 Million social media followers.
