In partnership with Polygonal Mind, the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) is all set to release 3D models of bored apes and mutant apes. With this, the NFT holders will be able to use their apes in the metaverse!
The models will be part of BAYC’s Roadmap 2.0 and will take a few months to complete. The VR-ready avatars will surely shake up things in the ape world! The announcement comes on the heels of the Mutant Ape Yacht Club’s successful launch.

BAYC x Polygonal Mind: All about ape 3D avatars
Polygonal Mind is a creative game development studio based in Spain and specializes in developing metaverse assets. Their team at CryptoAvatars (one of the company’s branches), will create 3D renderings of all the bored apes and mutant apes. CryptoAvatars focuses on the 3D rendering of digital avatars.
Once the renders are complete, BAYC will airdrop the 3D models to accounts of ape holders. These apes can then be used on any blockchain-based metaverse.
“Every single Bored Ape and Mutant Ape will receive a free, fully rendered and rigged 3D model that they can use in the metaverse,” BAYC said. “We’re working with Polygonal Mind to accomplish this, and given the sheer number of traits, it’s going to take a few months, but we’re really excited.”
The BAYC just wrapped up its Roadmap 1.0 with the launch of Mutant Apes. These apes became an overnight success that they broke the crypto Twitter. From now on, the project’s focus is on developing Roadmap 2.0, which will give more utilities and “member’s-only benefits” to BAYC’s growing community.
