Big Fan is spot on in recognizing the undeniable chemistry between NFTs, Sports and Metaverse. This week, the project is finally unveiling its Genesis Series of 1,000 Collectibles for a mystery sports club.

Here’s what we know so far about Big Fan NFTs
Big Fan promises NFT Collectors and fans a chance to own a piece of their favorite teams, players and sports through licensed NFTs. The platform is also producing the drops in collaboration with clubs, teams, and even star athletes from all over the world. Basically, users can bag rare player cards and exclusive ownership perks via limited pack drops from their favorite teams and organizations. However, Big Fan will only release a small number in each pack drop. So building a collection would require a keen eye and quick fingers.

The platform decided to launch its Genesis Collection in The Sandbox because of its fast-growing 3D worlds and game experience. Through its innovation, it has successfully attracted well-loved brands & IPs such as Atari, The Walking Dead and The South China Post. So as a platform that just launched in July, Big Fan intends to utilize The Sandbox as an anchor.
Founder & CEO for Big Fan Eugene O-Brien goes on to say, “We’re delighted to be forming a partnership with Sebastian and the team at The Sandbox. Their innovative solution will undoubtedly enable us to build richer experiences for our sports and esports partners. We’re really looking forward to working together, bringing our rights holders into the metaverse.”
Big Fan’s vision is to produce leading design, immersive statistics and engaging functionality. The platform aims to create its signature “Big Fan Experience.” Thus, it plans to focus on the NFT representation of physical things. Additionally, once a Big Fan collectible exists in the digital world it opens up a whole new gateway of experiences for fans.
The Roadmap
Big Fan is just getting started because by September it will be ready to launch its Marketplace. Then, it will dip its toes in the Metaverse by November. So it makes sense for the platform to launch its NFT Collection on the most popular Metaverse in the industry. After product and project rollouts, Big Fan will launch its own rewards token on 2022.
Yesterday, the project released a teaser video on Youtube. The material was a 25-second video titled “Football Enters The Sandbox Promo.” It showed a 3D character wearing a jersey which prominently displays the text “BF.” The pixelated character then proceeds to run across the field and score a goal. This video can be an indication that the first collectibles are from a soccer league or club.
Big Fan doesn’t just want to be a “me-too” in the NFT world. So it plans to reinvent the sports collectible experience through NFTs. Ultimately, the goal is to connect fans across generations with their teams and heroes. Meanwhile, NFTs will be the gateway for partner sports franchises to access an entirely new revenue stream.
