The trademark attorney Mike Kondoudis leaked the news on Twitter and shed light on the filings. Apparently, the application also includes downloadable video game software, virtual goods, in-game resources and currencies related to virtual worlds.
Many speculate Billie Eilish NFTs will soon become a reality. Others, however, assume Eilish is doing this to protect her name and brand from copyright violations.
The applications were filed on February 26th. In addition to her name, the applications also include the Blohsh logo – a gender-neutral stick figure created by Eilish.
Who is Billie Eilish?
Billie Eilish is a 20-year-old singer-songwriter who rose to fame with her single “Ocean Eyes” in 2015. Her debut album, “When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?”, debuted atop the US Billboard 200. It reached number one in several countries and is one of the best-selling albums of 2019.
Eilish is known for her whispery vocal style and dark pop music. She is also known for her baggy, oversized fashion sense and bold hairstyles. In 2020, she co-wrote the theme song for the latest James Bond movie with her brother FINNEAS. A year later, she released her second album, “Happier Than Ever”, which reached number one in 25 countries.
The 20-year-old star could become the next big celebrity to participate in the metaverse. Billie Eilish NFTs could soon join the NFTs released by artists such as Sia; Kings of Leon; Steve Aoki; Shawn Mendes and Grimes, to name but a few.
