The stakes just became higher because Binance Founder CZ confirmed that he is joining the poker match paired with the “The Phil Ivey Golden Ticket NFT.”
Last week, we reported that the world’s first fully licensed blockchain-based peer-to-peer poker platform is teaming up with the newly launched Binance NFT marketplace. The NFT is a 1/1 offering that includes a chance to play poker with Phil Ivey himself and now CZ.
How did this Poker Plot Twist Happen?
We have to thank Twitter for this exciting twist. Since the NFT will run on Binance NFT Marketplace, CZ tweeted about the tournament as a form of support. Ivey responded by offering CZ a seat at the table which the latter graciously accepted.
In a light-hearted tweet, CZ said, “I think I just got invited to an NFT poker thingy with Phil Ivey. How crazy is that? I hope I can last more than one hand.” The Tiger Woods of Poker urged CZ to just practice. He tweeted back, “You will do just fine, but start practicing…. NOW.”
In his career, Ivey has picked up ten World Series of Poker bracelets, one World Poker Tour title and appeared at nine World Poker Tour final tables. So everyone knows this is just a friendly match.
CZ fits perfectly to the All-Start line-up that includes Ethereum co-founder Joe Lubin and NBA Hall of Famer Paul Pierce. YoutTube phenomenon Mr. Beast and Hollywood actor Vince Vaughn round up the list.
