Virtue Poker is the newest partner of the newly launched Binance NFT marketplace. The world’s first fully licensed blockchain-based peer-to-peer poker platform is teaming up with the crypto giant to launch a 1/1 NFT for Hall of Fame and Virtue Poker Team Pro Phil Ivey.
The poker world recognizes Phil Ivey as the best all-around player in the world. Since he started his poker career in the late 1990s, he has picked up ten World Series of Poker bracelets, one World Poker Tour title and appeared at nine World Poker Tour final tables. With such accolades, he is often referred to as the Tiger Woods of Poker.
Binance and Virtue Poker’s “The Phil Ivey Golden Ticket NFT”
“The Phil Ivey Golden Ticket NFT” differentiates itself as the first and only Phil Ivey Binance Smart Chain-based NFT. It is paired with a unique fan experience of being able to play against Ivey and other A-listers. Joining the celebrity poker tournament are Ethereum co-founder Joe Lubin and NBA Hall of Famer Paul Pierce. The entertainment industry will be represented by YoutTube phenomenon Mr. Beast and Hollywood actor Vince Vaughn.
In a statement, Ivey revealed his excitement over this project. He said, “I’ve been working with the Virtue Poker Team for over 3 years. I’m excited to take this next step forward with both them and the Binance NFT Marketplace. And also really curious to meet the future holder of my NFT and get to know them.”
Bidding for the NFT will start on July 27 at the Binance NFT Marketplace. Binance is definitely stepping on the gas pedal in terms of launching exciting NFT drops. Meanwhile, Virtue Poker will host the celebrity poker tournament in August. As a treat, the NFT holder will also get a seat to the 2021 Las Vegas World Series of Poker Main Event in October.
Aside from claiming ownership over the NFT and enjoying the unique fan experience, the NFT also comes with a charity component. The NFT holder will have the power to donate $50,000 to his chosen charity.
What’s unique about this NFT offering?
Digital art and collectibles exploded in 2021 because of their guaranteed authenticity and rarity. On the other hand, NFT drops from celebrities and athletes relied on their reputation and popularity. Virtue Poker wants to challenge this status quo by launching Phil Ivey’s Golden Ticket NFT which primarily offers a real-world once-in-a-lifetime experience.
