BlockDown Festival, the world’s first NFT-enabled web3 culture festival, will take place next week between 11 and 13 May. The festival, taking place in Šibenik, Croatia, promises to be a festival like no other that celebrates all things Web3.
What can attendees expect from BlockDown Festival?
Festival speakers include top Web3 thought leaders like Aditya Turakhia, Director of Global Institutional Markets at Ripple; Lili Zhao, the Director of Ecosystem Growth for Neo; Wes Levitt, Head of Strategy at Theta labs; Kadine James Creative Technologist at Yahoo; Bruno Škvorc, founder of RMRK; and popular gaming YouTuber Kwebbelkop.
BlockDown Festival will also focus on music in Web3. Music industry veterans Paul Sears and Charlie Rapino will talk about how Web3 will shape the music industry in the coming years.
In addition, the festival will include four interesting workshops that will be open to all participants, including a workshop with Neo and a session on Digital Fashion by The Fabricant. The Human Trust Foundation will also conduct the “Becoming Carbon Negative & Planet Positive With Earth Trust – NFTrees” workshop.
Finally, Moonbeam – the Polkadot smart contract parachain – will host the “Launching NFT dApps on an Ethereum-compatible and interoperable environment in Polkadot.”
In addition to these discussions, workshops and formal networking sessions, festival attendees can mingle and network at various boat parties. These include boat trips along the Dalmatian coast, VIP champagne receptions on catamaran trips, yoga and sound healing sessions and more.
Music events at BlockDown
On the first night, attendees will be treated to Top 100 Beats Mag Italian Duo DJs Merk and Kremont, hosted by Polkadot NFT music marketplace Public Pressure. In addition to the music element, the party will feature cutting-edge augmented reality technology.
On the second evening, Web3 DJ Bufalo will showcase his musical wares at Šibenik’s historic St Michael’s Fortress. The fortress party will also be live-streamed into the BlockDown-branded Rocking Uniquehorns venue in Decentraland.
Last but not least, NFT legend Seedphrase, co-founder of NFT collective Party Degenerates, will headline the closing party. Guests have the opportunity to enjoy their last night in Croatia at Bullish Beach Club and enjoy Seedphrase and Plastik Funk’s explosive sets.
