This month, NFT project Jungle Collective joined forces with none other than Carole Baskin to launch Cool Cats & Kittens. This exclusive collection will launch on November 23rd – and it’s all for protecting Baskin’s Big Cat Rescue felines.
Cool Cats & Kittens, a colorful tiger collection
Although she’s among the earliest NFT adopters, Carole Baskin debuts on the NFT scene only this month. Her first Ethereum-based collection, called Cool Cats & Kittens, includes 7,777 unique tigers designed in collaboration with the NFT Jungle Collective.
Each collectible is featuring randomly generated traits, including a few ultra-rare attributes based on Carole Baskin’s style and personality!
Carole Baskin told NFT Evening, “I think the NFT is the gateway drug to bring animal lovers to a Virtual World in the Metaverse. All IRL wildcats should live free, so the virtual experiences have to be better than seeing them in cages.”
Accordingly, the NFT pre-sale will take place on November 23rd. Those who already own a Beast Rebel NFT from Jungle Collective are automatically included on the pre-sale list. Alternatively, you can join the official sale on November 24th. Once they’re minted, the cool CCAK assets will be listed on the secondary platform OpenSea.
Carole Baskin & NFT Jungle Collective: together for big cats
According to NFT Jungle Collective, part of the proceeds from both primary and secondary CCAK sales will go to Big Cat Rescue. This animal sanctuary led by Carole Baskin aims to save wild felines and protect them from illegal abuse. Yes, the same Big Cat Rescue made famous on the hit Neflix show, Tiger King.
“We have a fantastic community in the NFT space and since partnering with Carole and Big Cat Rescue we’ve found we have so many common goals,” says NFT Jungle Collective co-founder Jordan Puri.
“We hope to be a bridge to many of Carole’s community to the fast growing NFT world, and likewise for those already in the community to raise awareness of the issues facing Big Cats right now. More than anything it’s been fun! Seeing the amazing reaction to the artwork, and anticipation for the release of the project with the new documentary coming up is awesome!”
In order to bring Cool Cats and Kittens to life, Baskin and NFT Jungle Collective worked with Josh Smart. The cartoonist has over 20 years of experience in the domain, and has previously partnered with NFL, PepsiCo, and the NBA.
Charity NFTs are on the rise
As the NFT market exploded this year, more and more creators joined the trend for charity. For example, the popular project Wicked Craniums has teamed up with Sandclock Org to support UNICEF, the Health Finance Institute, Acumen, and Mercy Corps.
In addition, Charlie Chaplin’s granddaughter Kiera also tapped into NFTs with her Savvy Kiera collectibles. She will use the proceeds to purchase school equipment for underprivileged African students.
These initiatives prove that the NFT space is starting to make a difference in real life as well. And in the case of Carole Baskin, for her big cats in Tampa.
