NFT holders not based in New York will also gain access to a private channel on 8it’s Edible NFT Discord. There, they can vote on the location of the next meetup. What’s more – they can access airdrops of Petroni family recipes, invites to cooking classes and private dinners, and virtual and in-person meetups at Gabagool HQ.
Immortalizing food through NFTs
“I’m not like this fly-by-night NFT person jumping on a bandwagon, because I see it as a way to make a quick buck,” Christian Petroni says. “I’m already doing pop-ups anyway, so I could presell tickets… Or I can sell you the NFT and you get access to the Pizza Party, you get some rare swag and you’ll own art that immortalizes the dish you ate at my pop-up forever. On top of that, you’re going to be part of a community.”
The celebrity chef worked with Pepsico’s creative David Schwen to create this claymation artwork NFT; which will drop on Crypto.com to coincide with Pi Day on March 14. Furthermore, Petroni collaborated with 8it to make this drop a reality. For 8it newbies, it is a community where food lovers and industry professionals come together to discuss all things food-related.
Christian Petroni follows in the footsteps of other celebrity chefs who have joined the NFT space. These include Tom Colicchio, Spike Mendelsohn and Martha Stewart.
