Some great news for Chris Brown fans! The singer will launch his debut NFT collection. The streetwear NFT project is made in partnership with John Dean, founder of LA-based clothing brand Renowned.
Chris Brown Will Release The Auracles NFT Collection
Chris Brown has long been a fan of streetwear. He is also an advocate for Web3 as he once showed an NFT he bought on Instagram. This month, he will launch his first-ever NFT collection called “The Auracles”. It is based on a black superhero called “The Auracle,” who can time travel and has shape-shifting capabilities.
According to Dean, Web3 has the potential to correct “a lot of issues” that are still ongoing in the real world. NFTs, in particular, allow artists to profit from their work while “owning their narrative”. In Dean’s view, he and Brown can make the next mega superhero in the Auracle.
Brown and Dean joined forces with a collective of all-black developers and 3D artists for the collection. In addition, they also enlisted the help of BlackNFTART, a group that makes sure newer technologies feature Black art. Dean said this was crucial to be able to reach out to the larger community about the project.
The Auracle will also have IRL utility. For instance, some NFT owners will receive a physical item based on the NFT they hold. The expected launch date of the NFT collection is May 10, 2022.
