The late Soundgarden singer, Chris Cornell, will be immortalised in two NFTs up for Auction on August 5 on Cryptograph. The NFTs, titled Until We Disappear, and White Roses For My Soul To Keep, are from his final photo shoot. The Chris Cornell NFTs are known as the Last Session.
The Last Session NFTs feature images taken from a photoshoot Cornell did with Randall Slavin in 2017. Cornell committed suicide in May of the following year. Slavin did not publicize the photos until now, bringing out the Chris Cornell NFTs with the blessing of widow, Vicky Cornell.
Chris Cornell NFTs for Good
A percentage of the funds raised from the NFT sale will go to Phoenix House California. Phoenix House is a drug and alcohol abuse recovery center that Cornell supported.
“I’m so grateful that Chris’s last photo shoot was captured by not only an amazing photographer but a true friend,” Vicky Cornell said. “Phoenix House continues to do such crucial work especially during these times.”
One of the NFTs has a portrait of Cornell with cloud formation. The other NFT puts every single frame taken during the shoot together and presents them in flip-book form.
Musicians and NFTs go together well with a number of popular digital artworks coming from, or being attributed to, artists. Grimes and her WarNymph Collection Vol. 1 NFTs embodied the NFT hype earlier this year. The entire collection sold for $5.8 million.
