Christie’s to Auction a New Set of NFT Curio Cards on October 1

Christie’s is adding a new set of NFT Curio Cards to its impressive and ever-growing roster of NFT Offering. The traditional auction house has announced a new sale containing a full set of curio cards to begin on October 1.

Curio Cards is the first Ethereum NFT Collectibles dating back to 2017. Thomas Hunt, aka Crypto Personality “Mad Bitcoins” created the cards. Back then, Hunt predicted that NFTs would one day be a big deal. True to his words, 4 years later, NFTs have enjoyed explosive growth.

More about Christie’s Curio Cards Auction

The cards for auction are part of the “My Curio Cards” collection that launched in May 2017. The project features 30 unique series of cards from seven different artists. Fans and collectors can look forward to art made by Luis Buenaventura, Phneep, Cryptograffiti and Marisol Vengas.

Curio Cards predate the ERC-720 standard. Therefore the developers have created a wrapping service, allowing the tokens to exist as an ERC-721 standard compatible with Marketplaces like OpenSea.

The cards saw fresh demand this year. My Curio Cards is Rank #13 in OpenSea’s list of top NFT Projects for the last 30 days. Moreover, there are currently 3,800 curio owners and the collection has a total traded volume of close to $100 million since 2017.

Factors like historical significance and scarcity drive the value of NFTs that’s why Christie’s chose Curio Cards as part of their “Post-War to Present sale.” So if you want to get ahead, be sure to check out the latest news on the Auction at Curio Card’s official Twitter account.
