Comic Con India (CCI), the Indian chapter of the pop culture community, is the latest to make a metaverse move. CCI is all set to launch its own digital collectibles, called ‘The Non Fungible League’, for fans of pop culture and NFTs alike. But what exactly is The Non Fungible League by Comic Con India?
What is The Non Fungible League by Comic Con India?
Based on the Ethereum blockchain, Comic Con India’s Non Fungible League is a series of NFT collectibles. CCI will launch the league’s first character-based collection in the coming weeks. Actually, the league has even created its own mascot! Created by comic illustrator and animator, Abhijeet Kini, the mascot is called ‘The Non Fungible Man’.
With its new digital collectibles that will enter the metaverse, Comic Con India aims to bring together Web3 and pop culture. Soon, the community will launch a range of other characters that will make their way to the metaverse. As the league expands, Comic Con fans can also expect comic books, animation, and a live-action series.
“The metaverse and the burgeoning world of Web3 is the next big thing,” said Comic Con India Director Karan Kalra. “…therefore we wanted to create a collection that bridged the gap between Web3 and pop culture. The plan is to create long-term value for all those signing for our league.”
