Cool Cats NFT #3330 has sold for 110.0 ETH ($359,000 as of the 22nd of August 2021) to Opensea user CoinUnited, making it the highest all-time Cool Cats sale. The 2nd highest was at 80.0 ETH ($244,000 as of the 7th of August 2021).
What are Cool Cats?
Cool Cats are an NFT avatar project based on the NFT blockchain that is often classed as one of the top projects in the NFT space. It’s currently ranked #28 on Opensea ahead of projects like Veefriends, World of Women and Bored Ape Kennel Club. They originally released 9,999 Cool Cats earlier this year with different rarities for 0.06 ETH. Since launch 12.7k ETH has been traded on Opensea. Many people were put on to Cool Cats after boxing superstar Mike Tyson, who has 5.6 million Twitter followers, changed his Twitter profile picture to Cool Cat #2724. He bought it for 1.45 ETH a month ago. The floor price is currently at 1.52 ETH. Over time, we have seen many ups and downs for Cool Cats, most notably, the 45x increase in July.
What will the 110 ETH sale do to Cool Cats?
In general, the price is likely to stay similar to before, with a potential slight peak due to a bit of hype. But most importantly, it will allow new users to trust them more than before as they continue to build a track record in the community. In the future, Cool Cats plan to implement breeding into Gen 2, similar to other projects like zed.run and Cryptokitties. However, they stated in their roadmap that they plan to work with the community to see how to implement this. This new feature could cause prices to fall potentially as more Cool Cats come onto the market. However, we’ll have to wait and see. Also, Cool Cats plan to add more utility going into the future. They hope to award their original owners and investors with rewards whilst keeping them involved.
