Is Bored Ape Yacht Club about to feature at the Super Bowl?

    By James EllisJanuary 4, 2022Updated:January 27, 20232 Mins Read

In a tweet by popular Twitter user Peltzm, they suggested that we are about to see the popular NFT project BAYC at the NFL Super Bowl. However, we have a long time to wait. The Super Bowl doesn’t take place until February 13th.
Peltzm believes that the halftime show will feature the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC).

Although it is not confirmed, it isn’t hard to imagine. Numerous musicians own Bored Apes. Dr Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem and Kendrick Lamar have apes. All of these Universal Music artists are confirmed to be appearing at the Super Bowl halftime show.

Twitter rumours are circulating about the possibility of Bored Ape Yacht Club appearing at the Super Bowl half-time show.

Recently, Universal Music signed a 10:22 PM X KINGSHIP BAYC supergroup in partnership with j1mmyeth.

2021 was the year that NFTs entered the mainstream. Out of all of them, none stole the spotlight like BAYC. It emerged in the middle of NFT mania and quickly became the biggest, most sought after project.

To buy one now costs 71.5 ETH ($289K). Last week Eminem joined the BAYC, purchasing #9055, for an eye-watering $462K. Could we be about to see some of these artists at the Super Bowl halftime show using their Bored Apes?

Finally, this could be an important year for music NFTs. The music industry needs reforming. It favours the few, not the many. Now that people realise the utility behind NFTs, there will be a massive focus on how they can shape different industries moving forward.

Furthermore, music NFTs can focus on the artist, not the companies that own them. Perhaps, the Super Bowl halftime show will be the start of something big.
