Cryptoversal, the editor of Gutenberg’s Blockchain Vulgate, has just released an NFT Book of Genesis onto Polygon. It is the first fully decentralized, interactive Bible volume. More importantly, it forms part of the upcoming 1611 KJV Bible Collection.
The King James Version of the Bible consists of 80 books: 39 in the Old Testament, 14 in the Apocrypha, and 27 in the New Testament. It’s one of the most important books in English culture since it shaped the English-speaking world. Cryptoversal chose the first edition as it’s different from later editions due to the unique language used.
The Genesis NFT is the first book that will be available to collectors. Each book is linked to Blockchain Angels – this project’s NFT art tokens. In addition to making striking PFPs, these Blockchain Angels will control the airdrops of the books. What’s more – each one contains a meditation on a different Bible verse.
The first Blockchain Angel will deliver the Genesis NFTs. Most of the other Angels will deliver single books from the Bible Collection. However, there are also Golden Angels – which will deliver the entire collection to keen collectors.
According to Cryptoversal, “The Golden Angels are a model subscription service for Cryptoversal Books. Before each book is released, a snapshot of the Angel is taken; so you’ll want to hold these tokens until the entire series is complete.”
The Genesis NFT and 1611 KJV Bible NFT Collection are the latest in the line of religious NFT projects. Last year, the NFTorah project’s Torah NFT began the trend of religious NFTs.
