CyberKongz, the pixilated gorilla-themed NFT series, will be setting up a merch shop on Uniqly.io on August 12. The store will launch with CyberKongz physical NFTs in the form of limited-edition T-shirts.
Uniqly.io will be creating the store. The site labels itself as “The first bridge between NFT and physical products” This allows users to have real-world collectibles made unique on the blockchain with QR codes on the merchandise.
CyberKongz Physical NFTs
CryptoPunks seem to be the inspiration for CyberKongz. This series of non-fungible tokens on Ethereum has 10,000 unique human characters. The theme is more monkey for CyberKongz, however, there will only be 1,000 ever made. It is uncertain if the CyberKongz Physical NFTs will be new, or part of the 1,000.
There are also ten legendary CyberKongz NFTs. The minting process for this project, and its ‘Initial Kong Offering’ took place on OpenSea.io.
Charities benefited from the profits raised in the initial offering. The charities were helping support rainforest communities, stopping deforestation, fighting against climate change, and protecting real ‘Kongz’ in their native habitats.
Real world NFTs
There is an increased blurring of the lines between NFTs and physical NFTs. However, while it seems like going full circle, combining digital tokens with physical items has been effective.
For instance, news from luxury car maker Porsche saw an NFT auction being linked with an exclusive sketch by Peter Varga, Director of Exterior Design, at Porsche.
However, bringing their NFTs to T-shirts to create CyberKongz Physical NFTs is slightly different. But, it shows a new level of innovation.
