The First Mint and Dapper Labs’ NBA Top Shot are hosting the “First Mint Fest.” The 3-day online NFT showcase will give NFT platforms, products and projects an avenue to reach the NFT sports and gaming community.
The First Mint is a leading podcast and media source for new & established NFT projects in the crypto space. Founder Luc Doucet transformed it from a one-man NBA Top Shot-focused platform into a full team of NFT and Crypto Insiders. Meanwhile, Dapper Labs is a household name in the NFT Space. It is the company behind NBA Top Shot, CryptoKitties and Flow blockchain.
First Mint Fest
During the inaugural digital expo, attendees will have access to live panels from notable speakers on industry topics such as NFT utility, creator economy, and women in blockchain. Each project will occupy an interactive digital “booth.” So aside from the talks, they will also run community initiatives including games, raffles and challenges.
Luc Doucet, CEO of The First Mint, thinks that this event is ideal for bringing newcomers into the NFT Space. He said, “We created this festival because NFTs are about community-driven experiences, but there’s still a learning curve to discovery. We want to remove those barriers to entry by encouraging newcomers to immerse themselves in a passionate community where there are no stupid questions.”
Day 1 – Day 3 Event Flow
The digital expo will open with an interview featuring Dapper Labs CEO Roham Gharegozlou and The First Mint’s LG Doucet. Then, gaming NFT Projects Blockto and Eternal.GG will take over the floor to share their innovations. The next 3 sessions are for NFT beginners because the talks will explain why NFTs are gamechanger. Rounding up the first day is Yat Sui, Chairman of Animoca Brands, who will present the ecosystem of REVV Racing.
To kickstart the second day, NFTFi Founder Stephen Young will discuss how NFTs can be used to unlock DeFi products. The learning sessions will cover the play-to-earn model and the crypto creator community. This way, newbies will have an idea what are the main drivers of NFT adoption. Horse racing platform Zed Run will also take center stage to share future features and partnerships. To keep things light, the last agenda is a Metaverse Party for all participants.
If you are a fan of The Sandbox, then you can’t miss the third day. Marcus Blasche, Marketing Director at The Sandbox, will discuss how their Metaverse empowers creators through gaming and blockchain. Finally, the organizers will announce the winners of the Unofficial NBA Top Shot Collector’s Choice Awards.
Dapper Labs’ NBA Top Shot: Perfect NFT Gateway for Non-Crypto Market
Doucet is confident that Dapper Labs is the perfect project to champion an initiative geared towards attracting non-crypto enthusiasts. He said, “Dapper Labs was the ideal partner because they brought hundreds of thousands of people into NFTs via NBA Top Shot and this is an extension of that work.”
This is accurate because the platform breached the one-million mark. Most of the users are non-crypto enthusiasts who wanted to buy and trade basketball highlights branded as “moments.”
The Co-Founder and Chief Business Office of Dapper Labs echoed the sentiments of Doucet. Mik Naayem said, “We are thrilled to be supporting The First Mint as they take on this awesome mission to educate and engage. We are proud to be among the voices coming together to talk about the future of NFTs, a topic we’re especially excited about.”
First Mint Fest will be on August 3-5 and you can register for free at www.firstmintfest.com.
