This week, RTFKT Studios confirmed its partnership with 3D digital art company Daz 3D for a new NFT collection called CloneX. The 20,000 upcoming digital avatars aim to revolutionize blockchain tech, allowing holders to carry them through multiple metaverses.
RTFKT & Daz 3D create a CloneX revolution
If you’d like to have your favorite NFT avatar accompany you everywhere, then CloneX is for you. Created by digital sneaker producer RTFKT (pronounced ‘artifact’), this is the first transportable avatar NFT collection. In essence, the 20,000 non-fungible tokens will be suitable for creating social media content, gaming, videos, and other features within the metaverse, as well as outside of it!
In order to bring CloneX to life, RTFKT joined forces with Daz 3D, one of the leading 3D digital art and Software groups.
The collaboration seemed obvious for both parts, as Daz 3D CEO James Thornton explains:
“As we were working on our own long-term NFT strategy, we began tossing around ideas with RTFKT and this became an organic and obvious partnership. RTFKT has a unique vision for 3D assets. The new CloneX avatars strive towards a collection where their owners can take them wherever they go—into movies, games, animation, and much more, in whatever metaverse they choose,” he said.
Meanwhile, RTFKT Studios co-founders Chris Le and Benoit Pagotto confirm the importance of Daz 3D technologies:
“Our approach with the Metaverse is not to dream of impossible solutions, but to work and execute the best glimpse of the metaverse experience with all the tools and skills we can use today,” they said. “Being OG DAZ3D users, we knew Daz was the best team to partner with to push that vision forward. (…) It’s a dream collaboration that we hope will inspire people to see where the future is headed.”
RTFKT’s Clone X project: what we know so far
The CloneX collection will feature 20,000 NFT avatars to be launched mid-November. The pre-sale price for an NFT will be set at 0.05 ETH to provide accessibility for everybody. As for the public sale, this first drop will include 10,000 randomly-generated NFTs; then, each collector will be able to buy up to 3 Avatars per wallet.
RTFKT Studios has been using Daz 3D’s PFP Utility Kit to create a versatile collection. As a result, the upcoming digital avatars will feature various clothing styles, as well as special traits that enhance their uniqueness.
Surprisingly, iconic Japanese artist Takashi Murakami also took part in the Avatars’ design. He came up with multiple exquisite traits based on his colorful signature style. What’s more, each Avatar will feature a Murakami Drip property too!
Who are CloneX’s RTFKT and Daz 3D?
RTFKT Studios, known for its digital sneaker design, aims to take AI and blockchain technologies to the next level. The company has been an important part of innovating the NFT market, thanks to its exclusive collectibles.
Meanwhile, Daz 3D is offering a free software suite and 3D marketplace to support content creators’ imagination. In fact, the Daz Studio owners are creating more than 20 million animations each ear easily – all thanks to the company’s next-gen 3D-related products.
The CloneX project, which was first announced in September, will likely open new doors that might revolutionize the way we use NFT avatars right now.
