Tactical Card Game Doctor Who: Worlds Apart is launching a new set of NFT Packs today, October 21! The free-to-play game is welcoming Edge of Reality to its growing list of card packs in anticipation of the game’s full launch next year.
There will be 10,000 packs from the Unearthly Origins Seasons. The new NFT Pack is up for grabs for only $19.999. Ahead of the game’s full launch, users can already download the Deck Builder now. Then, start planning strategies using the available card decks.
Each card in Doctor Who: Worlds Apart includes unique artwork wrapped in a card frame. The core packs contain frames that will always be around. However, users can also find, collect and trade beautiful, animated “Alien” frames for every card in the game, making their collection truly stand out amongst the rest. All the cards in the Edge of Reality NFT pack feature a CyberReaper frame.
NFT Packs: Utility
The release of a new NFT pack always generates buzz in the community because, unlike other free-to-play games, Doctor Who: Worlds apart gives complete ownership of the cards. This means that users can sell them to other players for real money, just like a regular trading card game!
Since every single card game is completely unique, even if users find a card they don’t want or need, it could be worth something to other players. They can join the community on the marketplace to buy and sell cards until they’ve built their perfect deck.
History of Doctor Who: Worlds Apart
Earlier this month, Reality Gaming Group announced that their trading card game Doctor Who Worlds Apart would officially come to the Polygon blockchain. This strategic move will allow the game to be a part of the network’s ecosystem. As for the commercial benefits, users will get to enjoy faster transactions for a fraction of the cost. Doctor Who: Worlds Apart is not alone in recognizing the benefits of moving to Polygon. Decimated, Terra Virtua, Ethermon and even The Sandbox also migrated to the PoS blockchain.
The gameplay challenges players to strategically outsmart their opponents by building decks that can combat a wide variety of tactics. Reality Game Group is developing the game based on the BBC television series Doctor Who. It features unique artwork from the early and modern days of Doctor Who.
According to the website, the game will jump off from the original plotline. The Doctor in the TV series turns out to be extraterrestrial but appears to be human. He travels through time and space using the Tardis, a time travel machine that looks like a blue Police Box, and has all kinds of adventures. The first episode aired in 1963, hence the price point for the Tardis Pack and the number of founder’s tokens.
