Enjin, Virtual Worlds Partner To Bring Egyptian Pyramid NFTs To Life

    By Reethu RaviJune 19, 2021Updated:September 21, 20222 Mins Read

NFT platform Enjin, and Virtual Worlds, a company specialized in digitizing historical artifacts, are coming together to mint NFTs of digital replicas of Egyptian pyramids.

To kickstart their partnership, Virtual Worlds will mint a limited-edition set of NFTs representing iconic Egyptian monuments. This will include the Pyramids of Giza and the Great Sphinx of Egypt, Enjin said in a press release. Once completed, collectors will be able to own these NFTs. Moreover, they will be able to showcase these NFTs in their virtual homes in Virtual World’s platform.

According to Enjin, this is the first instance of bringing digitized historical landmarks to life through NFTs. These NFTs will provide a new way to interact with realistic replicas of monuments worldwide, the company added.

“…We’re bringing the world’s most important artifacts and monuments to a new digital ecosystem,” said Virtual Worlds CEO Elliott Mizroch.

Virtual Worlds has over 20 years of experience in creating accurate digital versions of historical artifacts. They achieve this by using Unreal Engine and 60K-definition photogrammetry scans.

The first phase of the collaboration will involve treasure hunts where participants can claim NFT artifacts in the 3D environments. Once claimed, the NFTs will be sent to their wallets via Enjin’s smart contracts.

In addition, the partnership aims to organize virtual events, including concerts and art shows within the virtual world. Along with this, AAA-type games, including racing or player-versus-player games, are in the pipeline.

Enjin and Virtual Worlds’ partnership has opened up an exciting new space in the NFT world. NFTs like virtual real estate NFTs are already popular. Hence, it will be interesting to see what historical landmark NFTs have to offer.

“This is one more demonstration of how NFTs can be used to engage players, create new virtual worlds and economies, and connect all digital ecosystems into a single multiverse,” said Enjin CEO Maxim Blagov.
