Football Fantasy Blockchain platform FootballCoin has launched a new version of its fantasy football game for EURO 2020. The fantasy game’s latest version comes with NFT player cards that can be purchased for as low as $12. Players can sell, buy, or even loan these cards on the platform.
In addition, the free-to-play game will feature increased prices for all daily contests, FootballCoin said in a press release. Along with this, top managers in the game have a chance to win 100 XFC, the game’s cryptocurrency.
FootballCoin’s Euro 2020 Fantasy Game
To play the fantasy game, players have to register on the signup page. Once registered, players can choose a contest to compete in. Then, they can create a team of 11 players and five substitutes from a roster of real footballers.
FootballCoin gives all the rewards through XFC coins. The players can either keep these coins or trade them against fiat on a number of crypto trading platforms. However, most of the XFC trading volume is currently taking place on centralized exchange Whitebit.
With NFTs surging in popularity this year, several sports-related NFT projects have come up. NBA Top Shot, for instance, has amassed over $700 million in total sales in under a year.
However, unlike NBA Top Shot, FootballCoin doesn’t restrict to collecting sports cards. Instead, as players build their card collection, FootballCoin allows them to become ‘managers.’ They can then participate in the daily competitions using their cards.
Furthermore, FootballCoin doesn’t charge additional fees for selling, trading, or leasing the player cards. The platform hopes to become the next big NFT sports platform.
