FriendsWithYou, a new up-and-coming NFT project, is showing its support for Ryder Ripps. Responding to a tweet by Ryder Ripps declaring the BAYC racist, the FriendsWithYou Twitter account responded, “It’s becoming more and more clear that ur right”.
Ryder Ripps has been speaking out about BAYC and their alleged racism for some time now. In fact, he has previously tried to drag the World of Women NFT collection into it. In a tweet, he said, “I think I speak for all @worldofwomennft members and fans when I say we stand against Bored Ape Yacht Club and their vile use of nazi references and racist tropes.”
Not surprisingly, many in the World of Women community were quick to point out that he doesn’t speak for them. Now, FriendsWithYou agrees with Ripps.
Ryder Ripps first accused the Bored Ape Yacht Club earlier this year, producing a detailed Twitter thread. He accused BAYC of using Nazi imagery and racist stereotypes in the thread and charged the founding team with racism.
Significantly, most of the NFT community failed to see the same viewpoint as Ryder Ripps. Furthermore, BAYC was quick to deny the allegations.
FriendsWithYou is an up-and-coming NFT project by two highly reputable artists. Meanwhile, the brand has been around since the early 2000s. It is known for art exhibits worldwide and collaborating with big brands and celebrities. Now, it is launching an NFT project. However, many have raised concerns about the mint price starting at 3.3 ETH.
