Gala Games to Sell a New Collection of Mirandus VOX Avatars Next Month

Big news from Gala Games, as a new collection of VOX avatars has been announced. The series will expand with a new collection of characters dropping on 6th December 2021, inspired by the role-playing game Mirandus. Tokens will be available within the Gala Games Store, which is good news for buyers. The platform is unaffected by ongoing blockchain gas wars, so you won’t wind up paying well over the odds for transactions.

Nevertheless, it’s important to note there will be a dual gas fee for all purchases. This is because charges are incurred for buying the VOX Box, and an additional cost is incurred for minting and revealing your VOX. In total, the new collection consists of 8,888 NFT avatars.

A proportion of these have already been set aside for node holders. Some of those who experienced issues in the last VOX sale will also receive items in the Mirandus VOX set. Meanwhile, the remaining majority will be put up for public sale. A key point to remember is that buyers will need both GALA currency to pay for the token itself, and ETH for the gas fees.

Demand for Mirandus Vox Avatars

If the last Gala Games VOX avatar drop is much to go by, owners of the new set can expect a rapid rise in value once the primary sale is complete. The last instalment was based on the popular Town Star game. If you look at secondary markets, these are going for around 1 ETH now. Which is around $4,100 in US dollars.

One thing that should determine demand is the level of utility in this new series. Gala Games has promised the NFT avatars will be usable within Mirandus the game. However, at the time of writing details of what that means are thin on the ground (read: non-existent). If Town Star is much to go by, though, the VOX series could be a real boost to the original game. In Town Star, players can let their avatar run free through their town. In turn, this generates TOWN token rewards, yield increasing with the rarity of your VOX.

What is Mirandus?

Mirandus is a forthcoming MMORPG from Gala Games. Earlier this month the developer confirmed the title would undergo playtesting in December, with players able to earn Materium — the in-game token — from that time. According to the team behind the scenes, this token is a magical essence. Players can use it to enchant their weapons or boost armour. And it’s likely more functions will be included in the final game.

In order to gather Materium, you will first need an Exemplar, which is an in-game character classed as legendary. Each of these has a particular trait, making them experts in something, for example, hunting.  Exemplars are already available via Gala Games online, and start at around 3,300 GALA, or $1,100 US. Putting it into context, the cost can rise to around $35,000.
