About the NFT Drop
The Gareth Bale NFT drop will take place on September 28th. They’ll release in two forms. The first being images of Bale on a poster, with some coming signed. The second is a futuristic 3D recreation of the athlete’s iconic goal during the 2018 Champion’s League for Real Madrid, as previously mentioned. Dropping these NFTs will create long-lasting memories for the Welshman, whilst providing support to emerging creatives around the world. Bale released a statement, saying: “Over the course of my career, I’ve had the privilege to play for incredible fanbases around Europe and the world. Now, I look forward to giving something back to my supporters in the form of digital assets that you can’t find anywhere else.” These NFTs from Gareth Bale will also raise funds for Velindre Cancer Centre in Cardiff, with a portion of proceeds going to the charity.
He’s following in the footsteps of many other footballers in launching NFTs, for example, former Liverpool striker, Robbie Fowler.
