How Ghozali Ghozalo Turned 5-year worth of Selfies into NFTs

According to the OpenSea listing, Ghozali Ghozalo took pictures of himself from 2017 – 2021 (18 – 22 years old). He shared that his main goal was to create a Youtube video for his graduation. So in a way, he just wanted to document his college journey leading up to his graduation. He has been taking photos of himself way before the NFT boom! Then, the opportunity to sell it as NFTs came, so he gave it a shot.

The images are quite literally just selfies with no fanfare involved. It just shows Ghozali Ghozalo in front of his computer. The NFT world is indeed full of surprises because this became the Collection’s greatest strength! The image was the perfect representation of a gaming nerd: webcam, headphone and gaming chair. So it had massive meme potential!

Sure enough, Ghozali Ghozalo attracted the attention of NFT whales! MasterChef Indonesia star Arnold Poernomo is one of the project’s most ardent supporters. He has over 5 million followers across Instagram and Twitter, so he definitely boosted the Collection. He even uses one of the selfies as his Twitter PFP.

He explained that it was first shilled by It was shilled by @Jejouw. Then, he came in along with other big names like @Barthazian, @sweettoothnft, @TheBoggartt, @Nate_Rivers and many more! They wanted to help Ghozalo earn extra income.

He also said, “We have a dedicated discord for Ghozali and also newcomers or anyone who want to jump into the space. This discord we’ll dedicate to help and guide people who want to learn about NFT and the space.”

Ghozali Everyday

Scams, hacks and rug-pulls made headlines over the past few months, with investors losing thousands and even millions worth of assets. So it’s refreshing to see how NFTs can change one’s life for the better.

Another endearing tidbit that got the attention of the community is the Collection’s parallelism to Beeple’s EVERYDAYS: THE FIRST 5000 DAYS. The iconic digital artist posted a new work of art online every single day for 13-and-a-half years. Then, he combined all of it into one digital image and sold it as an NFT for a record-breaking $69.3 Million.

Yes, Ghozalo’s selfies are from being a work of art but they struck a chord among NFT enthusiasts and collectors. To the point that even Ghozalo is surprised with the reception. He tweeted, “until now, I don’t understand why you want to buy #NFT photos of me!!! Thank you guys for five years of effort paid off.”

The NFT community loves how things turned out for the young college kid. To most, it shows the power of NFTs to support content creators.
