Immutable, the game studio which runs the NFT game Gods Unchained, will soon launch its new IMX utility token. A part of this will go to those who own Gods Unchained trading card NFTs.
IMX is the native ERC20 utility token of Immutable’s layer-2 solution, Immutable X. Immutable launched the layer-2 solution early this year to make trading NFTs cheaper and faster.
Gods Unchained: IMX airdrops for players
Upon launch, only 20 million IMX will be available on the market. The first airdrop for Gods Unchained players will contain 100,000 IMX tokens. Immutable took a snapshot on July 22, based on which 7918 users are eligible for the airdrop. The IMX will be evenly distributed among these users, meaning, each will get 12.63 IMX, Immutable wrote on a blog post.
Additionally, in the next airdrop – Alpha airdrop – Gods players have a chance to win 400,000 IMX. The rewards will be based on a points system, which in turn will be based on the types of cards each player has. For instance, a Mythic cards hold more points than a common card.
What are the benefits of having IMX? Those who own IMX can stake it to earn interest. In addition, 20% of every transaction fee on Immutable X will be paid in IMX. For those who don’t have IMX, the platform will automatically swap the tokens in the background. And finally, IMX holders can vote on governance decisions on the platform.
According to the post, the airdrops will take place on the “token generation date”. Immutable will announce this a week in advance.
Currently, only Gods Unchained is hosted on the platform. Last month it had announced the launch of $GODS, its official governance token. Meanwhile, more projects are expected to move to Immutable X.
