The Duppies NFT community came alive recently as the official Twitter account got hacked. Apparently, some wallets were drained after they clicked on the ‘stealth mint’ link. Since then, the Solana community, the DeGods NFT community, and the Duppies NFT community were actively tweeting to warn more people not to click on any links from that Twitter account.
What happened to the Duppies NFT Twitter account?
Basically, there was an announcement on the Duppies NFT Twitter account saying that there was a stealth mint going on. By following the link, users effectively gave up control of their NFT wallets. According to Twitter user @Helloimmorgan, several wallets have already been drained through this hack.
Since then, the team has contacted Twitter Support, requesting them to shut down the page. This is to prevent any more community members from falling for the exploit. They are even giving out free $DUST to random accounts that help them to report the hack.
Who are the Duppies?
The Duppies NFT project comes from the same team that brought you the DeGods NFT collection. Frank and his team have certainly done a great job with DeGods so far, even attracting the attention of the likes of Shaquille O’Neal. In addition, they are also sponsoring a team on Ice Cube’s Big3 League.
Tentatively, the mint date will be July 15th, 2022. There will be a total supply of 15k NFTs, and participants will need 375 $DUST to mint a Duppies NFT.
Duppies NFT is a 100% WL project, where 9.5k spots are for the DeadGods NFT holders. In addition, the team will give out 3.5k scholarship spots. 1.5k WL spots will also go to various DAOs according to the amount of $DUST they hold. There is still no indication as to what the artwork looks like as the team will only release them during the actual mint.
