The Hashmasks NFT project team have outlined plans to bring more utility to the tokens and are in the process of acquiring land in virtual worlds, The Sandbox, CryptoVoxels, Decentraland, and Somnium Space.

By colonising these areas, users will have a zone where they can create events, expositions and permanent museums. Community grants through the MaskDAO will aid the most promising ideas put forward.
New Lands for Hashmasks in Virtual Worlds
Firstly, showcasing Hashmasks NFTs is the team’s priority. Therefore, each virtual world targets a specific purpose.
Firstly, the Sandbox land will undergo customisation to exhibit the art “…and games which will be developed around the Hashmasks universe.”
Meanwhile, a grant has been awarded to MaskDAO to commission a architect and an artist to build a Hashmasks museum in CryptoVoxels. It is envisaged that this will be “…a massive gallery for exhibition of art collectibles”.
The land obtained in Decentraland is “…in a prime location on a street and corner close to all the action in that metaverse.” Displaying Hashmasks that have won the latest contests from the Hashmasks and MaskDAO will be their main goal.
Finally, Somnium Space will host a monument to Hashmasks because the team “…believe that they will be an important player in the coming metaverse.”
Hashmasks’ Expansion into the Metaverse via Virtual Worlds
The Hasmasks expansion schematic goes someway to visualising the scope of the larger plans.

The project boasts over 4,600 unique Hashmasks owners. Such a numerous community appear to be sufficient in size to rise to the challenge of the published roadmap.
The project is actively looking to create at least one game based on Hashmasks characters and related elements. Whilst admitting the right developer is critical, the core premise will be a play to earn/win model.
Any game would clearly benefit from an established Hashmasks backstory so this is something the team are keen to establish. In association with the MaskDAO, they are actively seeking “…to fund the creation of a rich and in-depth story/lore tied to Hashmasks.”
But What Are The Hashmasks?
Hashmasks launched earlier this year and speed was of the essence for the collector as the price was time sensitive. They started at just 0.1 ETH for early adopters but rose to 100 ETH (around $130,000) for later buyers.
Subsequent secondary sales have already reached $66 million in value.
The artworks depict a human body beneath a mask of various configurations. Backgrounds, clothing, hairstyles or items they are holding also result in significant differences, not unlike the famous CryptoPunks.
However, consumers may also name each NFT which results in added value. A specially created Name Change Token (NCT) is interchangeable with others to stimulate further interaction with the artwork.
This naming function therefore means both the creator and the consumer are responsible for creating the value hierarchy.
