In just two months, the blockchain-based multiplayer role-playing game (RPG), Idle Mystic, has quickly grown in popularity. Singapore-based GameFi company, PTE Game, launched the game—its first—on August 26. While many blockchain games have launched in recent months, Idle Mystic claims to be the world’s first play-to-earn, 3D NFT game.
Within 24 hours after the game’s website launched, it amassed 5,000 registered users. Furthermore, the presale sold out in six days! Cut to October, it reached another milestone. The number of registered players of the game soared to 100,000 on October 25, from 50,000 on October 9, it said in a blog post.
Idle Mystic: The gameplay explained
Idle Mystic, in the developer’s words, is “a play-to-earn, multiplayer strategic incremental RPG”. To play the game, players have to select their ‘Mystic Hero’ and strategic formations. They’ll need at least three heroes to participate in battles. These can be bought from either the Idle Mystic official store or secondary marketplaces.
Now, each Hero is unique and have properties created by smart contract algorithms. There are four properties in total: Health, Speed, Skill, and Morale. Furthermore, the characters belong to six different classes. These are Alliance, Elf, Horde, Undead, Divine, and Hell. Along with these, there is also the Genesis Hero that comes with special properties and skills. These are available only through the pre-sale.
During battles, you can pick from thousands of different combinations of battle formations. Thus, when you choose your three heroes, you have to select ones with different skills.
“In order for you to have the best chance of winning in battle, you need to choose to match different skills,” the game notes on the website. Every time you win a battle, you earn rewards. The game also has a ranking system to choose the top players at the end of each session. They too, win attractive rewards.
Meanwhile, the game has a feature called ‘Hero Inheritance’. With this, players can combine two heroes to create a new hero. Players can also use a “Magic Stone” to “catalyze” the inheritance. These Magic Stones can be obtained by winning battles, winning competitions, being an active player, and more.
What about the play-to-earn mechanics?
Idle Mystic has its own governance token, called Idle Mystic token (IMT). Players who hold the token can become part of the game’s community governance. Then, along with other players, they can exercise their voting rights to contribute to in-game decisions. By the end of this month, PTE Game will also list the token on top decentralized exchanges.
Players can earn IMT in four different ways. These are game activities, season rewards, incremental output, and UGC player creation rewards.
IMT has a fixed supply, 51% of which will be used to reward players in-game. Besides, the developers will use 50% of its revenues earned from NFT sales, NFT marketplace transaction fees, and inheritance fees, for community development.
