CryptoPunks is surprisingly preparing to join Hollywood as Larva Labs signed a deal with United Talent Agency. The company will represent the NFT art project along with Meebits and Autoglyphs in the entertainment industry, including video games, publishing, and television.
UTA representing CryptoPunks & other NFT projects
Recently, more and more Hollywood entertainment groups have shown interest in the NFT market, including giants Lionsgate and Fox. As a result, Larva Labs has signed a deal with UTA to represent one of the landmarks of the NFT industry, CryptoPunks.
In addition, United Talent Agency will also represent Autoglyphs and Meebits – two other popular Larva Labs creations.
Head of UTA Digital Assets Lesley Silverman is optimistic about introducing a crypto-originated IP to mainstream media:
“I would say that it is one of the first opportunities for an IP that fully originated in crypto-world to enter a broader entertainment space, and they earned it,” he says. “They really have hit the zeitgeist in a tremendous way.”
Larva Labs’ rise to Hollywood stardom
When Larva Labs launched CryptoPunks back in 2017, people were unsure about the future of the NFT market. However, the crypto-art collection exceeded any expectation, with 8 pieces selling for over $2 million so far.
Right now, the CryptoPunks NFT brand is worth a total of $3 billion. This makes them one of the (if not the) most successful NFT collections to date.
According to the co-founder of Larva Labs, Matt Hall, the team views their collaboration with UTA as a growing opportunity:
“We are excited to work with UTA for the benefit of the entire community connected to our projects. Not only for the exciting opportunities to bring them wider exposure, but to help protect their growth and value for the long term.”
