Louis Vuitton commissioned ABIBOO Studio to create a fitting NFT piece celebrating the 200th birthday of the luxury brand’s Founder. The result is digital artwork AKORO which reimagines Monsieur Louis Vuitton’sorginal and timeless creation: the travel trunk.
Since this is an important milestone in Louis Vuitton’s history, the brand has chosen 200 visionaries who capture the spirit of the man who started it all. Hence, the impressive line-up includes activities, scientists, explorers and artists. In fact, some of these big names include journalist Gloria Steinem, music group BTS, actress Robin Wright, and some architects such as Frank Gehry and Sou Fujimoto.
Exploring Louis Vuitton and ABIBOO Studio’s Immersive VR NFT: Akoro
Basically, Akoro is an immersive virtual reality experience running on layer 2 Ethereum blockchain, Polygon. Moreover, it is a non-physical object that responds instantly to the lights and sounds in the surroundings. Hence, it provides a highly customizable experience.
According to the press release, the real-time responsive character of AKORO makes it come to life. The project elaborated that the “artist’s heart” has its own beats and character while adapting to and reflecting the context as it breathes and resonates. So the NFT aims to create a customized metaverse experience based on the environment or desired inputs.
To illustrate, AKORO facilitated virtual traveling. For example, the user may be physically in London while being immersed in a virtual reality experience that responds to events simultaneously happening in New York or even Mars. AKORO also doubles as a trunk of memories. That is, it can transport the user to a filtered immersive reality of special moments through personal videos. This adds a very personal touch and dynamic to the NFT.
