Macy’s, the world-famous New York department store, launches a series of NFTs. Highlighting their iconic 4th July fireworks display and parade, the 9,500 NFTs are entirely free! The world’s largest store gave the free NFT collection away to their fans, and no one was disappointed.
What are the Macy’s NFTs exactly?
Basically, they highlight details from Macy’s 2022 4th of July Fireworks celebration. The NFT collection also features some great utility. This includes accessing Augmented Reality wearables that will work on social media and various platforms. Yes, Macy’s are embracing web3 culture with Open arms!
“These free Macy’s Fireworks NFTs will help attract a new set of fans with an easy-to-access implementation that democratizes this emerging space for a mass audience while also embracing a digitally native audience with added utilities, including Augmented Reality wearables,” said Will Coss, executive producer of Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks.
There are three levels of rarity for the NFTs: Classic, Rare and Ultra Rare. The closing date for registration was the 27th June, and the airdrop commenced shortly after. All of this they achieved in partnership with Sweet.
Macy’s enters the world of Web3
Apparently, it’s not the end for Macy’s NFT surprises. In collaboration with Sweet, they also released a Macy’s thanksgiving NFT too. You may notice the Macy’s New York NFTs are built onto the Polygon Network. Apparently, the world-famous brand wants to focus on eco-friendly solutions within the NFT space. Now, we have plenty of options. In fact, it’s great to see how big brands are assessing how NFTs impact the environment.
