The American cinema image of Marilyn Monroe depicts her as a glamorous sex symbol. The NFT Collection offered alternative images to this. For example, Blake Kathryn used the breathy, seductive rendition of Happy Birthday that Monroe sang for President John F. Kennedy at his 45th birthday as inspiration. The artist flipped the narrative 200 years in the future and reimagined a birthday party for Marilyn Monroe as President herself.
Most of the pieces centered on Monroe’s metamorphosis from Norma Jeane to Marilyn Monroe. Monroe was also portrayed as a pop culture goddess, neon sign and a free spirit driving her top down
The Brand, Icon and Woman
It is only fitting that Marilyn Monroe is the first female celebrity to be featured on Ethernity Chain.
