MetaKovan wants you to download his Beeple NFT for free. The right-click and save community will be able to download the third most expensive piece of artwork by a living artist for free, with the owner’s support.
The piece of art in question is ‘Everyday’s – The First 5000 Days’ by American artist, Mike Winkelmann, otherwise known as Beeple. The artwork is a collage of 5,000 individual images made every day for over 12 years. Beeple dedicated over a decade to produce this truly magnificent piece of art.
In March, Beeple auctioned the art as an NFT, selling it for $69.3 million to MetaKovan. MetaKovan is the pseudonym of Indian cryptocurrency investor Vignesh Sundaresan.
The sale of the artwork legitimised NFT artwork in traditional art circles. Christie’s art auction house is one of the most prestigious in the world. Furthermore, many other big art companies have entered the NFT space on the back of this auction.
Beeple NFT is art history.
Meanwhile, Christie’s stated at the time that the auction was the “first purely digital NFT-based artwork offered by a major auction house.” MetaKovan owns a unique Beeple NFT and a piece of art history.
Speaking to Bloomberg, MetaKovan discussed his opinions on NFT property rights. This is a big issue in the NFT world, with many NFT community members discussing copyright laws especially.
Sundaresan said that “information wants to be free.” He went on to add, “If you have an NFT, I believe everyone gets to enjoy it. But you don’t need everyone to pay for it”.
Finally, MetaKovan knows that people will always want to enjoy art, and not everyone can afford it. Perhaps, now with MetaKovan approving people to download his Beeple NFT, many more will enjoy it.
