NFT LDN has been going on over the last 2 days, however quite discreetly. Contrasting to the large scale event in New York we saw this week for NFT NYC, which had billboards all over the city and was spoken about like crazy on social media.
About NFT LDN
The event has taken place over the past few days, today and yesterday (November 6th). The location was Unit London, an art gallery in Central London. The event was a place for all those involved in the NFT space from around the UK and beyond to get involved in an IRL NFT event if they couldn’t get to NFT NYC. This year was the first year that the event has taken place, as they joined Twitter last month, but despite the almost last-minute element the event brought, it seemed to go quite well.
The weekend at NFT LDN was full of talks from many major names in the space and was just a place for people to meet up and network with their online friends in real life, maybe for the first time despite maybe knowing each other for maybe 1 year+. Undeniably, the capacity wasn’t huge, with 40 first come first serve seats available. The event was made possible by their several sponsors. They stated that the event was not for making a profit.
Future ‘IRL’ Events
The future of IRL NFT events is bright. Seeing the success of NFT.NYC and now NFT LDN, we can see a clear long-term future for these kinds of events being an annual occurrence around the world. We see these kinds of events with sneakers, anime, and comic fans to name a few. So why not with NFTs which has a massively growing audience? Certainly, after people saw content from both NFT.NYC and NFT LDN, many may have experienced some FOMO. We may see them book tickets for next year’s events, all going well.
