American businesswoman, media icon and NFT advocate, Paris Hilton has invited Microsoft Co-founder Bill Gates to her podcast for “explaining things”. Hilton is one of the many celebrities that have hopped on the NFT bandwagon and is going all-in on the craze.
In April this year, Hilton had dropped her NFT collection in collaboration with designer Blake Kathryn. The collection had sold for over $1.11 million. Meanwhile, in June, the hotel heiress had invested in Origin Protocol and joined as an advisor.
Paris Hilton, Bill Gates, and NFTs
Early this month, Hilton had appeared on “The Tonight Show,” and discussed NFTs with the show’s host Jimmy Fallon. Soon, parts of the show went viral, and Hilton explaining NFTs was widely compared to Gates explaining the Internet to David Letterman in 1995.
Quote tweeting one such post, Hilton tweeted yesterday, “Hey @BillGates Maybe it’s time for you to come on my podcast and we can take turns explaining things.”
Paris Hilton is NFT advocate and has been for a while. She even published a blog on the subject in April. “I see NFTs as a way to innovate, empower others and push the boundaries of how artists interact with their fans,” she wrote.
Gates, on the other hand, has yet to join the NFT craze. Additionally, he isn’t all too keen on cryptocurrencies. Early this year, the billionaire had noted that his view on Bitcoin is “neutral”. He further noted that Bitcoin was not a “great thing” for climate, owing to its high energy consumption.
Gates is yet to respond to Hilton’s tweet. It remains to be seen if he will indeed take up the invitation and discuss NFTs.
