Picasso’s granddaughter, Marina Picasso, and her son Florian Picasso will release 1,010 NFTs based on a never-before-seen ceramic work by the artist.
All about the Picasso family NFT collection
Basically, the NFT collection will release in a series of drops. So, the first drop will release on January 29th at the Picasso family’s own marketplace called ManAndTheBeat.com. This drop will include five limited sets of 200 NFTs titled “Visage de Couleur”.
Finally, the last collection called “Visage de Lumiere” will release on Nifty Gateway.
Already, the fan art of Pablo Picasso is spread throughout several blockchain platforms. However, the artist’s name never entered the NFT marketplace until now.
Interestingly, the collection, “Man and The Beast” will feature in a new song “Tomorrow”. The song, sung by John Legend and Nas, is set to be released on February 4th.
Furthermore, Marina will extend the drop into March, where she’ll collaborate with a famous auction house for the sale of 1-of – 1-NFT. This will consist of an exclusive piece from her private collection. Accordingly, the inspiration behind the NFT comes from the above-mentioned ceramic piece which she created as a child.
Marina added “It’s joyful, happy. It represents life … It’s one of those objects that has been part of our lives, our intimate lives — my life with my children.”
Positively, a portion of proceeds from the Picasso family’s NFT project will go towards two charities. First is the Nurse Heroes, which aids in improving the shortage of nurses in the workforce. Second is Carbon180, a climate-focused NGO on a mission to reduce carbon emissions.
