Players of PVP Brawler have finally settled on the “Spider Tanks” name to signify the official launch of the “The Spider Tank Project.” The Spider Tanks game is the next playable blockchain game in the Gala Games Ecosystem. Created by GAMEDIA, it plans to take on top game, League of Legends.
The gaming development studio is an award-winning game studio from the Netherlands with an extensive track record and history. The long list of the games under its belt is mostly based on well-known entertainment IPs. The game actually represents GAMEDIA’s pivot to releasing its own high-quality multiplayer pc, console and mobile games.
The Journey: Choosing “Spider Tanks”
The team heavily involved the community in selecting the official name of the game. After receiving more than 600 title suggestions, everyone voted to narrow down the option to the top 10 finalists. Then, Spider Tanks edged out the other suggestions. The majority loved the ring of the name because it perfectly captured the creepy-crawly mech mayhem of the future esport.
The efforts of those who did not win will not be in vain. The community members who suggested each of the top 5 titles (+1 special mention) will soon win a sweet prize from the Spider Tanks team.
Formalizing the name of the project definitely adds waves of excitement to the official release. In preparation for the launch, the game released a 24-hour playtest yesterday, September 16. One of the highlights of the test is the launch of a brand new NFT tank that comes with varying levels of rarities. Tanks are important in the game because it unlocks the play-to-earn component .
