Global fashion retailer, PrettyLittleThing has officially begun its journey into the metaverse by releasing its first virtual model. Currently, the virtual girl is rocking some of this season’s hottest trends on the PLT website. Known as an innovative and progressive brand, the fashion retailer is now attempting to bridge the gap between the real world and the digital world.
PLT’s naming competition
As a community-driven company, PLT wants to include its fans and followers in the creation process. The social-led fashion brand is organizing an exciting competition to welcome the virtual model to the community. At the moment, the model has no name and goes by ‘the virtual girl’. Therefore, PLT is organizing a competition to give her an official name.
This competition is open to anyone, with only a few simple steps to participate. Basically, fans need to write a comment to propose a name for the virtual girl on the Instagram post that is announcing this release. PLT will then select a winner and use that name for the virtual girl. In addition, the winner will also win the chance to be turned into another virtual model featured on site.
PrettyLittleThing is a UK-based fashion retailer, aimed at 16-35-year-old women. This global fashion brand has a strong presence in many countries, with its headquarters in Manchester. The company is establishing a strong movement towards positivity, equality, and feeling good about oneself regardless of body type, race or gender.
In essence, the company offers a diverse set of products with a wide range of price points. This allows #EveryBODYinPLT to feel confident when it comes to how they dress and present themselves to the world. With regards to their journey into the metaverse, this is just the beginning and we can’t wait to see what’s next!
