Although you won’t win the actual truffle, you will receive a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Truffles are a type of edible fungi similar to mushrooms. This evasive delicacy is one of the most expensive food items in the world, and now you can buy this fantastic NFT truffle.
Truffles grow underground and are difficult to find. Truffle hunters rely on pigs and dogs to sniff them out in moist environments. Truffles have an unmistakable taste and are often referred to as “the diamond of the kitchen”. Now, the truffle is immortalised in NFT form.
This is a 2.78 pound French black truffle. The owner of this substantial rare truffle is Bernard Planche. He is a “trufficulteur” (truffle grower) from Sarlat, France. Notably, he is an expert and has been hunting them for over 30 years.
He discovered this “tuber melanosporum’ over the last few weeks and had the idea to combine technology with this ancient practice in partnership with Venture Makers.
Finally, although the auction winner won’t get their hands on the actual truffle, they will get the digital rights.
In addition, the winning bidder will get an exclusive adventure in France on Planche’s sprawling estate. They will participate in a truffle hunt, assisted by truffle-sniffing dogs and pigs. Additionally, the lucky winner of the truffle NFT will also experience a fine meal at the estate.
