Rarible’s Tezos Integration Means You Can Now Mint “Clean NFTs”

    By TheoJanuary 26, 2022Updated:February 1, 20233 Mins Read

Since the popular NFT Marketplace Rarible integrated Tezos last year, more creators have embraced clean NFTs! Aside from low minting fees, more functionalities are now available, like Custom Collections. This is an important milestone for the integration because it seamlessly links the two industry giants.

Clean NFTs and Collections Thanks to Tezos and Rarible

Last year, Rarible announced that the integration with Tezos will happen in two phases. The first phase which is live now, provides the users the ability to mint, buy and sell NFTs as part of the Rarible Collection. Last week, Rarible integrated additional Tezos collections — meaning you can now list and trade Tezzards, HEN, and objkt items on Rarible.

Meanwhile, the second phase is all about introducing new features. For example, minting your own NFT collection through custom contracts and adding royalties to imported collections like Gemz, Tezzards which are already running on Tezos.

Rarible just kickstarted phase two by enabling Custom Collections. Collections are like a folder. If you mint on the big Rarible Collection, your work is in the same place as many others. This is a good place to start especially for new players because they can save on fees.

Good news: you can now mint your custom @Tezos collections on https://t.co/xjSw1JgG1t!

So what’s the upside of having your own Collection? When you have your own, your fans can access your (and only your) NFTs at the click of a button. That makes buying, selling, and collecting easier and more fun.

However, since the benefits are tremendous, there’s a cost implication. At current prices, minting an NFT on Tezos costs around $0.20. Creating your own collection costs you roughly 3ꜩ once (about $8 at today’s XTZ price). After that, adding NFTs to your Collection is back to roughly $0.20.

Get Started: Create your own Collection!

Allow us to give a rundown of the step-by-step process on how you can enjoy the latest feature of the Rarible x Tezos Integration.

    1. Log into your Tezos wallet on Rarible.com, click “Create” in the top right corner and select Tezos.
    2. Scroll down and click “Create — TEZOS-MT.”
    3. Fill in all the information. The “Symbol” field is like an abbreviation for your Collection but won’t show up anywhere for your buyers. Feel free to copy your collection name or use a few letters from it (the maximum is 10 characters).
    4. Hit “Create Collection” to deploy your very own smart contract.

After you confirm the transaction in your wallet, your smart contract will be live in 5–10 minutes. After that, you’ve got your very own Tezos Collection that makes it easy for your fans to find and collect your work.

So head on to Rarible to take advantage of this latest feature!
