American DJ and NFT enthusiast, Steve Aoki, is inviting everyone to create a game that explores the weird and wonderful contents of his imagination! Titled the Steve Aoki Game Jam, participants will have two weeks to create a game to blow Aoki’s mind. Learning that 50,000 SAND is up for grabs, the Game Jam will be of interest to you. Here’s everything you need to know.

What is Steve Aoki Game Jam?
Prepare to enter and explore the subconscious mind of the legendary DJ, but more importantly, Web3 degen, Steve Aoki, and his Game Jam. The task at hand is to create a game inspired by the wacky creativity and unique perspective which Aoki portrays in his art and music. Whether it is a puzzle, platform, or adventure game, the possibilities are limitless and only bound by your imagination.
How Can I Participate?
Firstly, you’ll need to decide whether you will tackle the challenge as an individual or as a team (maximum of 4 members). Secondly, you’ll need a Sandbox account to download the Game Maker and VoxEdit software. Thirdly, your task will be to create a game using the Game Maker software which meets the entry and validity guidelines. The guidelines can both be found in this Medium post by The Sandbox. Finally, you must complete this form and submit your game via the Game Maker Gallery.
The Sandbox staff will judge all entries on a 20-point scale. The scale will be based on factors such as creative ideas, level design, game design, playability, and wow factor. So grab a pen, paper, and put your creative thinking hat on.
The Game Jam begins on May 8th, 2023, and the deadline to submit your entry is May 21st at 3 pm UTC. Furthermore, submissions gathering and voting will happen between May 22nd and June 4th, 2023. On June 10th, 2023, the judges will announce the winners.
What Can I Win?
If you’re not interested already, then you will be after learning that a staggering 50,000 SAND (around $25,877) is up for grabs. Of course, those who rank higher will receive better prizes. However, it’s worth noting you can still win SAND by simply participating. Amongst the winners, The 50,000 SAND distribution is as follows:
1st place: 10,000 SAND and potential to be onboarded to the Game Maker Fund.
2nd place: 6,000 SAND.
3rd place: 3,500 SAND.
4th to 10th place: 1,500 SAND.
Best Idea: 1,000 SAND.
Best Design: 1,000 SAND.
Participation Award: 100 SAND.
