Painter Rob Prior is honoring the life and legacy of Comic Legend Stan Lee with a Limited Edition NFT Tribute. This NFT offering is personal to Prior because he worked alongside Lee to select each of the pieces. The “Stan Lee Legacy Collection” will be auctioned off on Mintable featuring pieces personally signed by Lee before his passing in 2018.

This NFT drop intersects fine art, pop art and NFTs. Buyers have a chance to purchase NFTs paired with large-format paintings. All 3 pieces will be sold as a 1/1 NFT offering. Lee created iconic characters like Spider-Man, the X-Men, the Hulk and Iron Man but in this Legacy NFT Collection, but this time he is the subject.
The three paintings incorporate Stan Lee’s image prominently as the hero, villain or in a came role. Fans and collectors can choose between: The Infinity Gauntlet, Introducing Stan Lee: Master of Magic, and I Am Iron Man.
Prior reminisced on his fond memories with Lee. He shared, “For almost two years before his passing, I worked closely on this project with Stan. While he’s not here today to see it unveiled to the world, I can’t possibly imagine a more befitting medium than an NFT to showcase it. Stan’s legacy is ever-enduring, one that will continue to permeate the comic book industry forever, and to see his final project immortalized on the blockchain is reflective of that fact.”
A portion of the proceeds from the NFT sale will also go to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. The organization supports childhood literacy, a cause that was close to Lee’s heart throughout his lifetime.
Additional Paintings and Videos
Aside from the paintings, the auction also features the personal collection of photographer and producer Jonathan Bolerjack. Lee’s five never-before-seen photographs and videos are from Bolerjack’s collection in his days as a long-time friend and later caretaker. These mementos will reveal private moments during Lee’s many public appearances as well as personal photographs during his final days.
Bolerjack hopes to show the other side of Lee outside his work as a comic book artist. He shared, “ For decades, Stan has captivated audiences through the rich worlds and diverse personalities in the comic book universe. While his role in the industry is undeniable, there was so much more to Stan than the public figure that many fans have seen at conventions or in film cameos. My hope is that this NFT collection can shed light on a side of Stan as a person that many people have yet to see.”
