A Robert LeBlanc NFT drop has been announced in support of his new book, ‘A New America’. The photographer’s latest work is the product of six years spent capturing life in the US. As per the announcement, it is now clear this will come with unique digital assets for those who want to invest.
LeBlanc has minted a series of NFTs to mark the forthcoming release, entitled ‘This is Real Life’, with a total of ten tokens available. Fans should note that currently only seven are up for sale via Foundation. The remaining three will be auctioned once the initial works are snapped up.
Another key point to note is the contents of the tokens themselves. The NFTs are partly formed from a single continuous visual diary broken into ten parts. Buyers can also look forward to a limited edition copy of the book and a print that will never be made available to the public.
What Robert LeBlanc thinks about the Robert LeBlanc NFT Drop
“When I first heard about the concept a year ago, I was excited. A lot of my work is shot digitally and seen by the public digitally as well. So to me, it made sense. I think NFT brings a lot of transparency and opportunity to working artists,” LeBlanc told HypeBeast. “We are living in a digital world, almost all of our lives are conducted through the internet in some way. To me being able to create art in a digital space, for digital use, and keeping it in the artist’s control is a beautiful thing.”
Although it may be true that videos, animation, and music are popular types of NFT content, photography is a dominant form of digital collectible. Early June we reported on how the Rose Stereograph Company archives were being auctioned as non-fungible tokens. The collection is among Australia’s most prized photography hoards. Meanwhile, in May, images of the famous gorilla Harambe also entered the space.
