Sandbox Mystical Festival NFTs Collection Launch

    By Ross WardropAugust 22, 2021Updated:February 2, 20232 Mins Read

The Sandbox launched Mystical Festival NFTs to celebrate Japanese summer festivals as part of the Mythical Festival collection in collaboration with a group of 18 Japanese artists. You can find out more about these artists here.

    Sandbox Mystical Festival NFT Launch

16 NFTs went up for sale on The Sandbox marketplace in addition to bundles of NFTs which were auctioned off on Opensea on the 20th of August over 24 hours. These totalled 81 NFTs. These make up a “majestic world filled with various elements”. They can be placed on LANDS to create a Japanese atmosphere. On Sandbox, the NFTs are separated into separate rarities, many of which are currently for sale on the Sandbox marketplace.

    What makes these interesting?

Many of the NFTs are bright and neon-lit, so look interesting in party scenes. They will also look in place in the Japanese festival atmosphere. The new Sandbox Mystical Festival NFTs allow users to decorate their LANDs and give them a mystical Japanese feel. This displays Japanese culture in a Sandbox LAND.

The Future of Festivals/Events in the Sandbox

With non-NFT games such as Fortnite and Roblox hosting concerts with huge artists, this shows that there is potential for concerts, events, festivals and other gatherings in video games. These events have brought in millions of viewers, so if marketed correctly, could be a perfect move for games in the Metaverse like Decentraland or The Sandbox among others.
