World-famous rapper and hip-hop icon Snoop Dogg joins forces with the popular NFT project, VeeFriends. The initial announcement of this exciting collaboration was made during VeeCon 2022. However, the collaboration includes the release of a new single by Snoop Dogg on 28th April 2023. Let’s deep-dive through all the details below!
VeeFriends X Snoop Dogg: Changing the NFT Game
Snoop Dogg is a huge proponent of crypto and NFT culture. As his music and fanbase expands, he has been vocal to promote web3 culture with various avenues. The latest side-quest by the legendary rapper sees him team up with NFT thought leader Gary Vee.
Fans may pre-save the song now to be the first to hear it when it drops. Moreover, the collaboration comprises a multi-phase experience on Burn Island that will excite NFT collectors. Here is an overview of each phase of the collaboration:
- Phase 1, Eruption 6: “Burn to Mint”: To celebrate the new single and the first year of VeeCon, the collaboration’s first release will be exclusive to VeeCon 2022 NFT ticket holders. Participants must burn one VeeCon 2022 Ticket and receive one “Please Take a Step Back” NFT in exchange. This phase runs from 28th April to 8th May.
- Phase 2, “Burn to Compete & Ape In”: The second phase commences with the release of Snoop Dogg’s official music video for “Please Take a Step Back.” There are two different competitions, each with different terms, rules, judging criteria, and prizes.Entrants must permanently burn NFTs from the “Please Take a Step Back” collection to participate. The first competition offers the opportunity to win Bored Ape Yacht Club #1452 from GaryVee’s collection. The second competition also offers the following prizes:
- Mutant Ape Yacht Club #12904 (1st Place)
- Koda Otherdeed for Otherside #28379 (2nd Place)
- Bored Kennel Club #1452 (3rd Place)
- 1,000 ApeCoin ($APE) to the top winners (4th Place)
- Phase 3, “Burn to Attend”: In the final phase, ten lucky individuals will have the chance to attend the High School Reunion Concert featuring Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa in Atlanta on 9th August 2023. Finally, winners will be chosen by permanently burning NFTs from the “Please Take a Step Back” collection.
